Parkview's 2015-16 Season
2016 Spring Musical: The Addams Family
There was Much Ado About Something on the Parkview Stage!
Parkview Art/Science Magnet High School’s 2015 fall show had all the drama and romance of a Shakespearean play with all the comedy of the 1990s.
Parkview’s drama department presented William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing but rather than being set in 1600’s Messina with the men returning from war, it was played out in the early 1990s with everyone returning from a football game; putting a modern twist on the comedy. The story focuses around the tale of not two, but four lovers, with Claudio and Hero as two madly in love, and Benedick and Beatrice who are the most unlikely lovers. Parkview presented Much Ado About Nothing in Parkview’s Metcalf Auditorium on Friday, November 20th at 7:30pm and Sunday November 22nd at 3pm. |

Meet the cast of Dusty Doomsday!
“Welcome to our little town... don’t go causin’ any trouble down here, we’ve got enough as is.”
Grab your boots & join the suspense-filled celebration of Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School’s annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre: Dusty Doomsday written by Parkview’s own Rahlea Zinck and Cameron Minor, Dusty Doomsday is set in Asheton, a little town in the Ol’ West. Settlers of Asheton are celebrating the establishment of their small town five years previous but with the dust of a tragedy still settling in this small town, more turmoil is yet to stir in this year's murder mystery.
Parkview’s Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre is far from typical theatre as it allows the audience to become characters in the performance in this interactive experience. At the door, participants are given character names and a short character description.
Parkview will be presenting Dusty Doomsday at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas History at 503 E 9th Street in Little Rock on October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with doors opening at 6:00 P.M. and the performance starting at 6:30 P.M. Tickets for the buffet-style meal & interactive performance are $20 per person and must be reserved in advance.

The 21st annual presentation of Tales of the Crypt was a great success!
Held the second Tuesday of October, Tales of the Crypt is an annual Mount Holly event. Under the direction of Tamara Zinck, drama students are each given a person’s name, who is buried in the cemetery, to research and “bring to life”. Award-winning local costumer, Debi Manire, designs the wonderful historical costumes for the students to wear as they perform monologues at the gravesites. Parkview English teacher, Erica Ivy, assists students with editing their scripts. Student tour guides escort groups from gravesite to gravesite to learn more about those who shaped central Arkansas in to what it is today. Although it takes place around the same time as Halloween, the event is meant to be historic rather than spooky. Admission is free to the public; however donations to Mount Holly Cemetery are appreciated. We hope you will join us next year!

Parkview's Freshman One-Act Play: 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse
The zombies have taken over, but how will we survive? Almost everyone has their own plan of what to do when the zombie apocalypse happens, but not many people have written a play to help people survive. Don Zolidis’ 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse tackles that tough question for those who have not thought of a plan. Zolidis' one-act is a comedy that deals with ideas from just simply running away from the zombies to flirting with them.
This year's one-act was student directed by Taylar Hasberry and Kyra Hatley, under the supervision of Tamara Zinck. The ensemble cast was made up of Parkview freshman who are enrolled in Mrs. Zinck’s Drama I class.
The freshman one-act was presented on Thursday, October 29th. Thank you to all who attended. We hope you had a scary-good time!
