Parkview Stagecraft & Technical Theatre Audition Pathway

Demonstrate and interest and aptitude in the area of theatrical design or construction.

A.     Submission of Creative Samples: Do you like to create? Can you imagine yourself working back stage in the theatre? Choose 3 samples—Examples: a woodworking project, a painting, a 3D work of art (sculpture)-- that illustrate what you love to create.  Don’t worry if these samples aren’t from theatre. That’s fine. They can be projects you’ve done on your own for fun or for a camp or workshop, or they can even be completed assignments from a class.  The ideal submission will include a variety of samples illustrating talent and interest in multiple styles of creation and do not have to be complete works but can be in-process.

HOW WILL WE COLLECT CREATIVE SAMPLES? (Option 1: Bring your items with you on the day of your audition and share them the audition panel). (Option 2: Photograph your samples and email pictures with a written description of each sample to lauren.lusk@lrsd.org )

B. Create something from scraps! With some scrap lumber, glue, paint, and a few odds and ends, create something . . . What? That’s for you to decided. We’ll be looking for creativity, execution of idea, and elements of style. You will be timed and have exactly 30 minutes to create your item.

Student work will be evaluated with the Stagecraft & Tech Theatre Audition Rubric.
