Hotel Paradiso cast list
Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School presents Hotel Paradiso. This French farce directed by Spencer Sutterfield with student directors Bailey Eagan and Billie Harmon featured a cast of twenty-eight. This play is a tale of just what happens - or doesn't - behind closed doors.
Synopsis: Madame Cot decides to teach her neglectful husband a lesson by means of a secret rendezvous with their henpecked neighbor, Monsieur Boniface, at the Hotel Paradiso. Unbeknownst to the would-be lovers, Monsieur Cot has been hired to discover whether the ghosts that haunt the hotel are real, or no more than the noise of drains on that same night. The hotel is so full, however, that Monsieur Cot’s room has been double-booked. Monsieur Martin, a friend of the Bonifaces, and his four daughters have been given the same room. The tension is heightened by Monsieur Cot’s nephew (an intellectual with no sense) arriving at the hotel with the Bonifaces’ maid, Victoire. Here ensues near-meetings of Cot and Martin in their double-booked room, the near-misses of Martin discovering his friend Boniface with Madame Cot, the threat that Boniface will be discovered by his maid, and indeed the anticipation that Cot will discover his wife with Boniface. This play is, literally, a ‘farce’ – a ridiculous, fast-paced romp of happy misadventure, and, as such, requires real comic skill.

Troupe 7955 Prepares for Festival
Ninth Grade One Act: Crushed
Audiences enjoyed the hilarious show featuring two teenagers who were guided though the "do's" and "don'ts" of the dating world. The show was Thursday January 16th at 7pm in Babbs Hall. Canned foods were accepted and donated to The Arkansas Rice Depot.
Dating is awful but Guy and Girl are pretty pathetic. Rather than interact with other humans, they've retreated to their own personal fantasy worlds of sappy romantic comedies and violent video games. Luckily, their hours of gorging on ice cream and battling imaginary enemies cause them to hallucinate their own spirit guides to romance, who will gleefully usher them into the world of dating, starting with lessons in what not to do. Don Zolidis' Crushed is a hilarious and wild look at the pitfalls of having a crush.

Tales of the Crypt |
Parkview Arts-Science Magnet High School performed “Tales of the Crypt” on Tuesday evening, October 8 to 1,531 visitors to Mount Holly Cemetery. Forty one Parkview students took part to help make this year’s presentation successful. The students efforts help fund some of the needed work to Little Rock’s most historical cemetery whose only way to bring in money is through a small amount from the city Little Rock raised from property taxes. As all cemetery plots have been sold, revenue to help other necessary improvements must come through other sources and “Tales of the Crypt” helps meet that need. Congratulations to all the students who worked hard to make this event happen.
